This cabinet was made to house original John James Audubon prints in the large, flat file sized upper drawers and rare books in the lower section. Original artwork on the panels is wood burning by wildlife artist Kathleen Marie Wilson , depicting some of the client’s favorite Texas flora and fauna.
Some of the Audubon prints are 3’ X 4’ giving the cabinet a big footprint. The design challenge was to create a piece that would accommodate the prints without appearing too massive or bulky. Woods include walnut, pecan, mesquite, and wenge. Art, design, materials, and craftsmanship, all come together sweetly.
